woo hoo
the bookbox i started on bookcrossing.com (favorite authors/favorite books) is almost home. there are 2 people who still need to receive it before it will be on its way to me. i sent it out in july with some of my favorite books and books by some of my favorite authors in it:
- dragons of autumn twilight, by margaret weiss and tracy hickman
- the fifth profession, by david morrell
- into thin air, by david krakauer
- hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy, by douglas adams
- it, by stephen king
- fried green tomatoes at the whistle stop cafe, by fannie flagg
- from potters field, by patricia cornwell
- fatal cure, by robin cook
- all around the town, by mary higgins clark
i think there was one more but i can’t recall what it was… probably a james patterson… i look forward to seeing what my little box of books has in it when it comes home. the requirement for books being added to replace those taken out is that they be favorite books, or books by favorite authors.
i also sent out a bookbox in january that is all books that were made into movies. it’s on its 3rd recipient at the moment, i believe. it might take a little longer as it’s traveling to canada for a few stops. that one went out containing:
- sleepers, by lorenzo carcaterra
- dune, by frank herbert
- the terminal man, by michael crichton
- hunt for red october, by tom clancy
- the runaway jury, by john grisham
- primal fear, by william diehl
- lord of the flies, by william golding
- misery, by stephen king
- dracula, by bram stoker
there might be more in that one, but i can’t remember. that one the requirement for the books added is that they be movies that were made into movies… even if they were just made for tv… just have to be made into movies.
i’m looking forward to seeing what these two bookboxes come home with.
