There are a million reasons to make sure to have a good calling card with you at all times. There’s nothing quite like having vehicle trouble while traveling, and not having any way to call for help. Cell phones are nice, but add roaming fees and it’s just not economically sound to use your cell to call around for towing and service from 100 miles outside of your calling zone. I was in just that situation once several years ago. We ended up running up an incredible cell phone bill (in excess of $300 in roaming charges) trying to find someone who could do the work on our van. To add insult to injury, before we were able to get it taken care of the cell phone battery died! A calling card would have been a life saver. Pingo offers International rechargeable phone cards.
