Getting Started
Most people have an idea rattling around in the back or their heads for a business that they’d like to start, unfortunately it’s not easy to find information or help getting things started. I know that I’ve had a few things rattling around in my overactive little brain. For instance, I’m pretty good at decorating those brooms that they sell in craft stores for weddings, as well as wedding photo albums and I’ve got a few ideas for ribbons/cords for handfasting ceremonies. I would LOVE to start up a business selling those items. I’ve also been contemplating (for many years) doing a “lunch lady” kind of business, providing good meals to local businesses. It’s definitely something I need to get a lot more information on before I can begin to think about it. From both a business and a heath department standpoint. California Inc. has a good amount of information and offer help setting up your own business for a nominal fee. Before you even get started you can check out their information on different business structures to help you decide what type of business it is you want to start. On a personal note, I must say that I really appreciate companies setting sites like this up for those of us who just can’t wrap our heads around all of the forms and things that are required. Just because I’m not good with forms, doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t be good at running my own business or that I shouldn’t have the opportunity to try.
