Strap in, strap up, laugh your ass off…

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Ok, I confess that I started listening to these guys cause I’m friends with em.  But I must say that they amaze and amuse and I’m sure some of y’all would agree.  Give em a shot, check out an episode or two.  The two most recent episodes are quite amusing.  I laughed, I cried… I damn near peed my pants.

But watch out for Claus… he’s a bit odd.

behold and be amused…

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

I’ve recently been turned onto the world of podcasts.  Something I’d heard of, but frankly never really got into.  To be honest, until a few weeks ago I didn’t know how to find, listen to or download one.  A friend mentioned one, said it was funny as hell and I searched them out.  It is indeed funny as hell.  I damn near pissed myself laughing.  They call themselves the Straitjacket Quartet.  I found them on podomatic.com but they are also on iTunes.  Apparently they’re also “coming soon, to the Zune.”  So definitely check them out for a good laugh.

too funny

so Gage’s teacher writes in a notebook every day or so about how Gage is doing in school.  What activities and stuff he’s enthusiastic about, or not enthusiastic about, how his behavior was, etc.  Today’s note included mention of Gage quoting a movie.  The quote is “Where’s the baby?  You lost it?”  She followed that with a comment that she assumes its from a movie or tv show, unless I’ve misplaced a baby.  That cracked me up.  it IS from a movie.  Ice Age.  Manny says “Where’s the baby?” and Diego answers with “You lost it?”

His behavior has been really good since he’s been on the patch.  Aggression at school has been to a minimum.  Even at home, once the patch comes off, he’s been much less aggressive.  There are triggers, of course.  And Kalina not only knows what they are… she USES them.  But mostly, not aggressive.  That’s a great thing.  Also, he’s able to sit still and focus on an activity or assignment in school until it’s completed.  Even at home.  He gets these hidden pictures books from Highlights that have a few pages where you put stickers on the hidden images you’ve found.  He LOVES those pages.  When he gets his magazines, he sits and does those pages until they’re done.  They come in a 2 pack every other month.  I’m thinking of saving one of the magazines he got today, and taking it with us when I take him out to a restaurant or something.  To see if it’s enough distraction to get him to wait patiently and quietly for his food.  Of course that means I’ll probably be taking him to friendlys or something this weekend.  He’ll like that.

For some reason, he’s not too fond of pants.  When he gets home from school… the pants come off right after the shoes and socks come off.  It’s like “I’m home now!  Pants are not required!”  At least he doesn’t take his pants off in public.  Although he does occasionally take his shoes off in public.

First of all, let me say that I love this song. Especially Johnny Cash’s version, which never ceases to bring a tear to my eye (the video makes me cry).

But this… is fucking funny:

Thank you Aaqron

bad horsesthis is one of the funniest things i’ve ever seen. seriously. click the picture. see horses, naughty horses at that, who are smoking drugs and drinking! where did this come from, you might ask. well… soeone on my livejournal friends list presented readers with this link to a post at somethingawful.com about a book. a book about a naughty horse named latawnya who does learns to say no to drugs. are you laughing yet? you should be. it gets better. the whole book has been scanned and posted. go there, read it. laugh hysterically at the story of latawnya who does everything that everyone else does (to say nothing of the grammar). it should be noted that this book was printed by a vanity press…

i find it frightening that this ended up in a library’s collection… i realize they don’t have the time to review everything they get, but what self respecting library administrator buys from a vanity press’ catalog?????

flavor of love girls charm school

Friday, April 20th, 2007

i confess, i watched both seasons of flavor of love.  and i enjoyed them both.  the show cracked me up. watching how stupid these girls behaved in this effort to “win” a man most of them knew nothing about.  the drama, the stupidity, the cattiness and bitchiness… god was it good for a laugh.

so now we have some of the girls from both seasons going to “charm school.”  i’ve seen part of an episode so far.  i’m watching the 1st episode at the moment.  i happened to catch it from the beginning.  so far i’m amused.  i get the feeling that i’m going to be more amused by this than flavor of love.

and speaking of flavor of love, at some point the version of the show w/ bret michaels will be airing… i’m so very disappointed that bret did that… and highly amused.  i can’t wait to see what kind of girls they got on the show.  there are so many ways it could go.  i want to see how many of the girls on the show are trapped in the 80’s… you know, the kind of girls that make you wanna walk up to them and say “honey, 1985 called… your day pass was cancelled.”

do you remember all those commercials for perdue chicken with frank perdue?

do you remember thinking that ross perot looked a hell of a lot like frank perdue?

someone on stump the schwab (reruns on ECL) just did a ross perot impression.

and all i could think of was a perdue commercial that showed people ripping the skin off their chicken… voice over (frank perdue) saying something like “lately i’ve noticed that people are stripping their chicken before they eat it…”

cut to a shot of frank perdue, head and shoulders w/ no manner of shirt on…
“so i took it off.  i took it all off”

it popped in my head because of the impression… i cracked up.  i thought perhaps some of you might also be amused.
