many many years ago, a livesized nude portrait of me was drawn in pastels. about 4 years ago i had to take it off of the board that backed it, and roll it up. i decided to re-roll it tonight, for a couple of reasons. since it’s so old, the pastels have dried to a chalky consistency i wanted to make sure that the rolling didn’t ruin it. i also wanted to re-roll it a little tighter and wrapped in better paper. while it was unrolled, i decided to take a few pictures of it. this is the top portion.

a portrait of me…
Sunday, June 24th, 2007gage’s photos…
Sunday, June 24th, 2007gage loves the camera. he loves taking pictures of all kinds of things. sometimes he takes pictures that make you go “how did he do that?” here’s two pictures he took. they haven’t been altered in any way, except for resizing.
i *think* the one on the left is a picture of tiger, probably shaking. gage probably moved the camera as well. it’s kind of a cool picture. the picture on the right is obviously of the tv, while he was watching mulan… i’m not sure what the blue line is tho, or how he managed to photograph it. like my blog? buy me a coffee.
it’s so cute…

gage had some leftover fettucine yesterday for lunch. while i was getting him something to drink, he was sitting in the fridge nibbling on it. he was also sharing it with tiger, a la lady and the tramp.? he’s done it before, with spaghetti but the camera wasn’t close enough to get a picture, and he only did it once.? this time he did it several times and the camera was well within reach.? it was so very cute.? gage shares food with tiger all the time, actually.? mostly the crust off of his pb&j and grilled cheese sandwiches.? sometimes bites of mac & cheese.
photo of the week

i took this earlier this week. it’s a close up of a rose from the yard. we’ve got 4 bushes that are red, 1 that’s pink and 1 that’s yellow in the yard. this was the first rose to bloom out of all the bushes. i got this before the bugs got to it. you can even see beads of moisture on it. it rained a little while before i took the picture.? after i took this picture, i cut this rose off the bush and brought it inside along with a bud that was just starting to open.? they were promptely eaten by ziggy — i forgot that he has a thing for eating household plants (which is why we’ve never gotten a poinsettia around xmas).
the moon…
Wednesday, May 30th, 2007here’s a trio of pictures of the moon that i took and really quite like.
this one, i call “cold moon.” i took this picture in january, thru the bare trees in the back yard. i wanted better focus, but i just couldn’t get it. i need to figure out a good setting on my camera for photographing the moon. i love taking pictures of the moon… as you might have noticed. even if they’re not clear, it’s still fun to take them.
this one i took after sunset. it was a nice night, the sky was lovely and there was the moon. as my friend eric used to say (i believe he was quoting something), “the moon is out and it is daytime… it mocks me.” of course, i could also quote robin williams and say, “the moon, like a testicle, hung low in the sky.” except that this one isn’t really hanging low, is it?
this one i took later in the evening on the same day as the one above. i love the way the lightof the moon shows on the clouds sometimes… that’s what i was trying to catch with this picture.

this weeks picture was taken… last night. what can i say, i saw the moon and it was just so beautiful i had to get the camera.? i had WANTED to get the shot about 30 seconds before this… the moon was half covered by that cloud.? i wish i had a camera that was really good for getting pictures of the moon.? mine might be… if it is i haven’t figured out the setting for that.? either way, i think this is a great shot.? i’ve got 2 more pictures of the moon that i took yesterday.? one right after this one, and one a couple of hours earlier… when the sun had set, but it wasn’t dark yet.
picture of the week
Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007ok, i’m a little slack this week. a day late, but hey, i’m posting it now! this weeks picture of the week is of something that gage painted. well, we painted it together. he picked the colors and poured them on the canvas while i tipped and turned it. it swirled in a really cool way.? i’m tempted to get more canvas and paints to see what gage does with the same process… now that it’s dried completely, it’s got a cracked surface and looks really cool.? this picture was taken while it was still a little bit wet.
photo of the week
Thursday, May 17th, 2007![]()
two photos this week, essentially of the same thing, and i couldn’t decide which one i wanted to post. so both it is.? they’re essentially taken of the same thing.? one with flash, one without, and a slightly different angle on each.? what can i say, i’ve alwys loved the way the leaves of a rosebush look.? especially when they’ve stil got that reddish tint on them.? they’re still lovely when they go all green, but there’s nothing quite like the way they look with the red.? so pretty, so festive.? the rose bushes have no buds yet, probably because of all the late snow we had… but they will soon i have no doubt.? when they do, perhaps a picture or two of the roses will be used for the photo of the week
son of a bitch…
Friday, May 4th, 2007well, i transferred some of my rejected payperpost entries from my ujournal to my livejournal.? i’ll continue to do that as rejections come in, since the ujournal will now be down until fucking june.? i can’t wait until this blog qualifies for payperpost.? another 30 days, i think.? unfortunately, some of the opps i took don’t allow posts on livejournal.? which means i’ll lose those completely.? i’ve already lost several.? pissed me the fuck off.? i’ve lost about $40 in opps because ujournal is down and didn’t bother letting people know it was going down (if i’d known, i would have copied and pasted the entries to private entries on livejournal and activated them when i got the rejection notice).
gage took a bunch of pictures yesterday.? most of them were of nightmare before christmas.? it was funny going thru the pictures on the camera and seeing them all.
like my blog? buy me a coffee.woo hoo
Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007i got books today. books i’d ordered from paperbackswap. stephen king’s song of susannah and a book with tips on how to make $ selling crafts. since i enjoy doing them so much… might as well make something from it if i can, eh? saturday i got a couple of books that i ordered for woody… tao of pooh and te of piglet. he was surprised i’d gotten te of piglet… apparently it’s not an easy book to find. but find them both, i did and they’re in great condition. the copy of tao of pooh that we had isn’t in very good shape. we got it at a used bookstore and it’s got water damage and the cover’s starting to come off and stuff. i might use that copy for a wild release (after reinforcing the cover with tape, that is)…
gotta get shipping supplies and send off the latest batch of sold ebay stuff.
going to have to take gage for birthday pictures soon… perhaps this weekend. i’ll just gel his hair back or something so it’s not in his face. i wish we could get it cut, but he’s so against having it even brushed…
speaking of gage… he loves nightmare before christmas. he sings along as best he can to the songs and stuff… and he’s also started singing AND dancing along to jack’s lament.? i’ve gotten a couple of pictures.? for the record, YES his shirt IS on backwards… but he picked it out himself (it’s one of his favorite shirts to wear) and he put it on all by himself.? he usually does a really good job putting shirts on right… this one, for some reason he keeps putting on backwards.? this is the only scene/song in the movie that he mimics all the way thru, which is funny, because it’s my favorite song in the movie.
