Bret Michaels

Bret Michaels: Vocalizin' & Socializin'

Personal note on Bret: Bret Michaels is a wonderful vocalist, he's fun to listen to and sings from his heart when need-be (and from his crotch when need-be, let's be honest). He sings with heart, style, and passion. I have looked up to him and I respected him for all that he is and all that he has been to me for many years. I love him as a hero, and as a friend. He is beautiful and talented. In my turbulent youth/adolescence... when deep rage, frustration, fear or depression sets into my soul, his voice calmed the storm within. For these things and more, he is my idol. And tho he's been "replaced" as my favorite vocalist, he still means the world to me.

Twice so far, I have been fortunate enough to meet Bret and spend some time in conversation with him. He is a kind and wonderful man, and his dedication to the fans shows in the effort he makes everytime Poison tours, to meet as many fans as possible, many times at the sacrifice of his health.

Outside of Poison, he's released a number of solo CDs (to date I'm only in posession of the soundtrack to A Letter From Death Row), done a few movies and guest starred on several TV shows. Bret is among the many entertainers who aren't afraid to make the leap into other mediums of entertainment -- and while he'll probably never win an Academy Award or Emmy for any of his performances, it's nice to see him doing what his heart tells him to do.
