It was in Pittsburgh, PA at the Star Lake Ampitheater. I was a member of ClubRockett (as well as the Production Assistant), and a member of BMIFC so I had 2 meet-n-greet passes.
The concert itself -- which was also my first time seeing Poison live, was kick ass... I was waiting in the meet-n-greet for Bret (a screw-up with venue security made it impossible to find the one for Rikki), and saw a frazzled guy running around looking for someone. Finally found out he was looking for me. He took me by the hand and said "I'm not loosing you, he'll kill me!" He led me from Bret's group down a corridor and took me to a group of people standing around chatting, places me behind one individual, taps him on the back and says "Found her."
The guy turns around and it's Rikki! I of course couldn't hold my shock and excitement and squeal (yes, I squealed) "RIKKI!" He gives me a big hug and says "There was no way I was leaving tonight without meeting you." So there I was, after years of dreaming of the day I'd meet him, and months of e-mails back and forth, standing there under Rikki's arm... I could have died content. He was called away to do a meet-n-greet for a radio station, so I asked him to sign some stuff before he went... he declined, telling me to wait there for him to get back - he'd sign whatever I wanted. And wait I did.
While I waited, I spied CC coming out of a dressing room. He stood by the door a minute and I was about to approach him when several people surrounded him. So I waited my turn, chatted w/ CC and had him sign 2 CD's. One for me, and one for my mother (it was her birthday and I was bailing on her to go to a Poison concert). CC noticed that they were both Open Up, and that one had the original cover... "Oh god!" He says, "I hate this cover... isn't that chick ugly??? You know why she got that job? Bobby was dating her. Can you believe Bobby dated that???!?!!" It was very funny. I chatted with him a few minutes then let other people have their chance (not before getting a picture with him of course).
Mere moments later, I noticed Bobby standing by a fence, staring off into nothingness and I approached him. We chatted for a few minutes and he happily posed for a picture with me, and a picture alone for Ayesha (our Poisoned friend in Pakistan). He signed my CD's and I left him to his thoughts.
By now, Bret's meet-n-greet was over. I was afraid I wouldn't get to meet him when he came walking into my hallway. I stopped him and was told by his bodyguard that he had to get to the bus because he was sick (Bret was suffering from strept throat by this point). I said I understood, had him sign my stuff and took a picture w/ him. I gave him a hug and told him to take care of himself and all that wonderful stuff... he went back to the bus.
Enter Janna. Janna and I talked a few minutes and she asked if I wanted to meet RV (Riki Valentine). I said sure and went to meet him. You have to understand at this point that I had spoken w/ RV recently, and he said that my name was always popping up... on mailing lists, in contest, etc... it got to the point where he and Bret were saying "Hey, it's Maggie again!" everytime they saw my name. He asked if I had met Bret, I said I did... he asked if I told Bret my name... I said I hadn't. He instructed me to tell Bret my name if I saw him again. I went back to my hallway to wait for Rikki, and wouldn't you know it - Bret walked back into the hallway (on his way to the same radio thing Rikki was at). I stopped him again and said that RV told me to tell him who I am. He stood there with a look of rushed patience (I was afterall a fan, and with Bret, fans come first... so he was going to hear me out). I told him who I was and his expression changed to excitement. He threw his arms around me and whispered (he didn't have a voice at this point) "It's so good to finally get to meet you!" He seemed so excited I almost asked if he wanted my autograph. I told him again to take care of himself and his voice and he went on his way.
Rikki returned shortly after that, and we talked for a little while longer. He signed my CD's... he also signed a picture he had with him and gave it to me. I had to depart shortly afterwards, told Rikki I would see him in Camden and went back to the hotel. I realized in the parking lot that I had forgotten to get a picture with my favorite member of Poison - Rikki. All in all it was a wonderful experience and the boyz were fabulous. They were as nice and into their fans as everyone says, and I hope every fan out there gets to meet them someday.
Since that blissful day, I've had the pleasure of encountering Bret 1 more time, Bobby & CC 2 more times, and Rikki 4 more times.
